the study of black shales has aroused the wide interests of the experts of many subjects. The Mesozoic and Cenozoic black shales (oil shales) in Jilin are not only abundant in some trace elements, such as Ag、U、Co、Ni,et al.,but also rich in paleobio-assemblage and high organic carbon content(2%).This paper Studies the accumulationcharacteristics of the rare and noble metals in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic black shales (oilshales)in Jilin, makes initial inquiries into the accumulation mechanism and providesconsults for comprehensive utilization of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic metalliferous blackshales(oil shales)in Jilin.
