Estimation of SOC of the lithium-ion battery based on extended Kalman filtering correction algorithm

With the rapid development of the electric vehicle industry, it becomes the current research focus to grasp the state of charge of the power battery in real time and ensure that the battery is in good working condition for a long time. Due to the complicated electrochemical reactions during charging and discharging of lithium batteries, SOC of battery shows a nonlinear dynamic relationship with its influencing factors, which makes SOC difficult to estimate accurately in real time. In this paper, based on extended Kalman filter(EKF) correction algorithm, the SOC of power battery is estimated and compared with the traditional method. The results show that this algorithm effectively solves the problem of difficultly estimating the initial value and accumulated error of SOC with the Amper-hour integral method, so the estimation accuracy is improved, and the maximum estimation error is less than 2.0 %.
