A Study of Talent Demand Situation and Cultivation Pattern of Business English——Based on a Survey of Talent Demand in Xiamen Area of China( Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone

Taking sixty-eight employers in Xiamen Area of China( Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone as the subjects,this study investigates the needs and overall qualities of English majors. Through questionnaires and in-depth interviews,it is thought that English majors are in great demand in the following three to five years in Xiamen. Facts are also found in this study that satisfaction of present English majors is still to be improved. Business practical skills,communication skills and negotiation skills should be strengthened when revising the curriculum of Business English. Student's humanity accomplishment,or the soft power,should be placed in an important place. Based on this survey,the result can be used for reference when cultivation scheme need to be revised. It is hoped that more and more qualified English majors who can meet the needs of local industries are cultivated in the future.
