Explanations on Text Production from Information Structure Theory——An Investigation of Writing Skills Employed by Graduates in Science and Engineering

Teaching experience tells us that graduate students still have difficulties in writing even though armed with some writing skills after four-year systematical learning in college.Lots of texts composed by them lack in incoherence,economy,logicality and can't arouse readers' interests.In this paper,the author tries to explain the phenomenon by analyzing the information structure of the sample text.
