The Application of Hyponymy Theory in TEM-8 Reading Comprehension

Hyponymy is an important semantic theory,which plays a significant role in English learning,especially in reading comprehension.This study discusses how to apply hyponymy theory to the reading comprehension in TEM-8,as the writing styles of reading comprehension in TEM-8 share the same natural characteristics with hyponymy theory.It has pinpoints that hyponymy theory can be identified at every level such as words,sentences,paragraphs as well as passages,which is of great help in locating answers of such reading comprehension.It finally concludes that a skillful application of such theory can benefit exam-takers to achieve a better result in TEM-8 reading comprehension.
