Case Study on American Museum Schools & Analysis on Operation Attributes

American museum school is the product of the profound cooperation between museums and schools whichmaintains their own attributes and advantages.It is not only a combination of school resource and museum resource but also the response of these two organizations in order to adapt to world development.Its research on teaching method and application is in the frontier of education reform.Through the case studies of their representatives in America,such as Science Museum of Minnesota School,New York City Museum School and Children’ s Museum of San Diego Elementary School,four operation features are summarized for the reference to co-operations between museums and schools in China:full use of museum resources,close combination of formal education and informal education,flexibility in curriculum and opening in administration.
