General Education in Pre-service Teacher Education:Position,Status and Improvement Strategies

The general education concept has been accepted by China’s educational circles,and had an obvious effect in the pre-service teacher education system.However,there are still many problems in general education,such as the education goals,the course curriculum,the understanding level,the qualification of faculty members as well as teaching methods.The paper analyzes the role of the general education in the pre-service teacher education and puts forward the strategic advices to promote the development of the general education in the pre-service teacher education.
