Research on the Development Strategy of Characteristic Disciplines in Local Comprehensive Universities—A Case Study Based on the Perspective of the Theory of Regional Advantage

Comprehensive development and characteristics education are complementary and indispensable in local comprehensive universities. Among them,characteristic discipline construction is the key to improve the core competitiveness and enhance characteristic running of local comprehensive universities. Based on the perspective of regional advantage theory,this paper analyzes the characteristics of 16 local comprehensive universities,and concludes that the effective path of the development of characteristic disciplines in local comprehensive universities is mainly to make clear the orientation of the school and find the target of the subject development; utilize the advantage of regional resources to promote the development of characteristic subject; select subject leaders and strengthen the construction of characteristic team.
