Pooling geological conditions of shale gas in T_3x~5 of West Sichuan-North Sichuan,China

CHENGang;XUShuang-hui;CHEN Hong-de;LINLiang-biao;DENG Hu-cheng;State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation,Chengdu University of Technology;
Based on the reference of the shale gas developing conditions in America and combined with the outcrops measurement,well logging interpretation,mineral analysis and other means,this paper analyzes in detail the pooling geological conditions of the shale gas in the Member 5of Xujiahe Formation in Upper Triassic(T3x5)in West Sichuan-North Sichuan.It indicates that the shale gas is a typical"retention hydrocarbon accumulation"and exists in mud shale as free state and adsorbed state.Furthermore,there are several superiorities in pooling geological conditions in study area.The shale in T3x5 deposits mainly in a shallow lake in Langzhong-Deyang-Chengdu-Dayi area,its thickness varies in 55~365m,and its depth 2.0~3.5km being relatively shallow.The mass fraction of TOC is2.0%~6.7%,with an average of more than 3%.The organic type is distributed mainly by KerogenⅢ,with a high degree of thermal evolution.The vitrinite reflectance(Ro)is 1.0%~2.0%,and the brittle mineral content is about 63.6%.In addition,the area also has good economic conditions and is a favorable block for the shale gas exploration and development under the current economic conditions in study area.
