Geological characteristics of mineralization and prospecting indicators of Jingkou Mo deposit in Tengchong,Yunnan,China

The geological characteristics and prospecting indicators of the molybdenum polymetallic deposit in the Jingkou area of Tengchong County,west Yunnan Province,are discussed and the theoretical basis for the prospecting work is provided.Jingkou molybdenum polymetallic deposit occurs in the metamorphic rocks of Lower Palaeozoic Gaoligongshan Group,and the ore is hosted inthe granite of Himalayan Period.The investigation shows that the ore minerals in the deposit are mainly molybdenite,which appears as veinlet disseminated,veined,brecciated and maculosed ores,and quartz veins and silicification are closely associated with the Mo mineralization.This ore deposit belongs to quartz vein type deposit,quartz vein and silicified alteration zone are the most direct prospecting indicators,while the contact zone of rock mass with highly unusual anomaly is the indirect prospecting mark.
