A New Perspective of Teaching and Learning English Idioms

English idioms are the highlight of English language,and they embody the wisdom of English people and the essence of English language and culture.This paper proposes the effective ways of idiom teaching and learning from five perspectives,namely,the comparison and contrast of English and Chinese notion;religion,myths,fables,anecdotes and literature works;historical and geographical factors;learning for fun and aesthetics;and other perspectives.
