Development of Attachable Device for Structural Health Monitoring Based on Piezoelectric Technology

In view of problem that the price of impedance analyzer for the piezoelectric material attached to structure's surface is a very expensive and not easy to carry,this paper develops a field-portable small-size impedance measurement system for structural health monitoring.Some experimental results for testing the torque loose in the bolt for a truss structure are presented.The results indicate that an accuracy of the impedance measurement system proposed in this paper is almost as accurate as the commercial multipurpose impedance analyzer.This system can be used to conduct real-time detection of mechanical structures and is effective in mini damage detection.
