Smith Predictor-LQG Control for Time Delay Compensation of Magneto-Rheological Semi-Active Suspension

In order to analyze the effect of time delay in magneto-rheological semi-active suspension control system,a time delayed magneto-rheological semi-active suspension model is built. A Smith predictor-LQG(SLQG) approach for magneto-rheological semi-active suspension system is presented to compensate time delay. Firstly,a LQG controller is designed so as to calculate the ideal active control force. Secondly,on the basis of LQG controller,Smith predictor is presented to conduct time delay compensation for the active control force. Finally,compared with LQG control(without time delay compensation strategy) and passive control,simulation results verify the proposed approach can obtain better control effect for time delay compensation of magneto-rheological semi-active suspension system.
