Research on optimal PRMAC Based on Cross Layer Contention

Pipelined Routing Medium Access Control( PRMAC) protocol is a known cross-layer contention based synchronous MAC protocols. PRMAC enable a node to schedule multi-hop transmission of multiple data packets in a cycle. However,PRMAC accommodate both the request-to-send data( RTSD) process and the confirmation-to-send data( CTSD) process in the same data transmission scheduling window. This degrades the routing performance.Therefore,the PRMAC protocol is improved,and the Multi-hop PRMAC( MH-PRMAC) is proposed in this paper. It introduces a novel cycle structure,which contains separate windows for sending RTSD and CTSD. The Simulation results show that MH-PRMAC reduces end-to-end delay,and improves packet delivery ratio.
