Effects of Deltamethrin on DNA Damage in Hemocytes of Chinese Mitten Handed Crab,Eriocheir sinensis

In order to investigate genotoxicity of deltamethrin in Chinese mitten handed crab,Eriocheir sinensis,a semi-static toxicity test was conducted in this study.Crabs were divided into 5 groups including0μg/L deltamethrin as blank control,addition of acetone only as solvent control and 0.10,0.20 and 0.40μg/L as treatment groups.Comet ratios and Olive Tail Moments(OTM)were measured at 1 d,2 d,4 d,8 dand 12 dafter comet assay.The results showed that there was no significant difference between solvant control and blank control,indicating that acetone was not the reason for DNA damage in hemocytes of the crab.Deltamethrin had so strong effects on DNA damage in hemocytes that the comet ratio and OTM in0.20 and 0.40μg/L groups were higher than that in blank control significantly after 1 dexposure,and then was significantly higher than that in blank control at each time point without a recovering till 12 d.In additon,the comet ratio and OTM presented time-response and dose-response obviously during this expriment,which reveals that they could be used as sensitive indicators in genotoxicity assessment of deltamethrin.
