Precision Analysis of Area Measuring and Calculation on Aerial Remote Sensing Photos

There must be some errors if the area is measured through aerial remote sensing photo. This paper gives a theoretic analysis of the error sources and their estimation method. Then an example is discussed to compare the magnitude of the errors and their influence on the area measuring and calculation. The necessary conditions and the application scope are proposed to use aerial remote sensing photos onto the area measurement directly, which provides data and theoretic basis for the direct area measurement from the orginal photos.
