Performance evaluation of NeQuick2 ionosphere model

NeQuick2is introduced which is improved from NeQuick1.The slant total electron content(STEC)values are calculated from GPS observations in the cases of different satellite cutoff angles and then they are used as reference to evaluate the NeQuick2 model.The NeQuick2 model is compared with the commonly-used IRI(International Reference Ionosphere)and Klobuchar models.The results indicate that the standard deviations of the STEC differences between NeQuick2-derived and measured values remain within 15 TECU and the stability of NeQuick2 are significantly better than the IRI and Klobuchar models.
