The design and implementation of expert system for linear texture understanding of remote sensing image

Linear texture information is an important sort of information of remote sensing image. Extracting linear texture information from image automatically is a necessary issue for remote sensing image intelligent interpretation. In this paper, the types of image linear texture information are extracted based on feature-object expert system and this expert system has been designed and implemented. Key technologies such as system structure, interpretation rule acquirement and expression, the design of message-based reasoning and explanation machine, are disscused. At the same time, the experiment based on this system is verified. The result shows that this method is operable and practicable, and the extraction accuracy is high.
