The application of information model based on GIS in geology stability evaluation system of Tianshan-Road

In the study of optimal design in selecting ways, the geology stability is one of the important factors to decide the highway route alignment. The complexity and diversity of the geology shoule be considered while choosing route. It is generally accepted that bad geology district shoule be avoided and the mileage that route crosses bad geology district shoule be reduced. Based on powerful function of GIS in data management and spatial analyses, and information content model, the paper develops an evaluation system of the geology stability accoeding to the facts of Tianshan-Road. It offers powerful basis of decision making to the optimal design in selecting ways in Tianshan-Road from the angle of quantitative analysis.
