Doppler reduction technique for determining the orthometric height using GPS signals

Based on the gravity frequency equation,the frequency shift between two arbitrary points on ground could be determined using two receivers by receiving the GPS signals. Then,the geopotential difference as well as the related othometric height difference between these two points could be determined. In the frequency shift measurement,the classic Doppler effect is the most significant error source. In this paper,various error sources are discussed,and especially,an approach,referred to as the Doppler reduction approach,for reducing the influence of the Doppler effect is investigated. Using this approach,the accuracy of measuring the gravity frequency shift could be largely improved.
