A method for GPS receiver clock offset prediction based on the forgetting factor least squares

Receiver clock offset prediction is a key technique for the GPS receiver in the weakly signal environment. The least square (LS) method is widely used in practical clock offset prediction. But LS method is easy to bring about the problem of data saturation. For overcoming this shortcoming,the forgetting factor least squares (FFLS) method is developed and applied in the receiver clock offset prediction. The main idea for FFLS method is to reduce the effect of old data by using the forgetting factor,and prevented the data saturation. Simulation results show that the FFLS method has improved the prediction precision compared with LS method.
