Performance analysis of a matched-filter PN code acquisition for direct-sequence spread-spectrum systems

Usually the performance analysis of a matched-filter PN code acquisition was carried out on the assumption that the detection measurements were independent. For practical system,the adjacent detection measurements are dependent when PN search size is smaller than one chip,for they had common input data. A matched-filter PN code acquisition model was formed for direct-sequence spread-spectrum systems. An efficient strategy of grouping false-alarm testing was provided. Probabilities of detection and false alarm were defined under the model. Using Monte Carlo simulation,the relation between acquisition performance and PN search step size,residual code phase offset was derived. The results can be used for receiver design of spread spectrum system and navigation system.
