Satellite orbit determination with onboard GPS observations based on square root extended Kalman filtering

This paper discusses square root extended Kalman filtering(SR-EKF) for satellite orbit determination with onboard GPS observations. Two GRACE satellites orbits are computed by using SR-EKF, and compared with the orbits of satellites computed by Bernese 5.0. By comparison and analysis, the following conclusions can be drawn: The orbits of GRACE which are computed by using SR-EKF are better than 10 cm; Empirical accelerations parameter can balance the observational information and dynamic information, but it increases the influence of abnormal measurement; The influence of abnormal measurement can be decreased when the noise of the satellite position and velocity are compensated, but systematic error may appear in the orbit in this case.
