Calculating and analysis of satellite umbra based on Cartesian coordinate

Precise calculation of satellite umbra is very important in power design,orbit estimating and positioning of satellite in orbit and so on.The paper builds Cartesian co-ordinates based on earth center,and describes the geometric relation of the sun,the earth and satellite from vector.And then,it calculates different orbit height satellites entry and exit positions and times trough umbra using cylindrical and conic projection models.Finally,the differences of results are analyzed.
