Design and development of GIS management system of seabed pipeline

In order to fulfill the delivery of oil and nature gas,a lot of pipelines are set under seabed.For the monitoring the safty of these pipelines,multibeam,side scan sonar,GPS and bottom profiler are used for surveying the topography,relief and geologic distribution of seabed around these pipelines.These information from above sensors is very useful for analyzing the pipeline stability,and protecting,repairing as well as updating pipeline.Thus,it becomes very necessary to mange these information.In this paper,these studies on the multi-information database constructions,the visualization of seabed topography and the construction of the temporal and spatial analysis model,are implemented.Finally,the development of the GIS management system of seabed pipeline is fulfilled.Currently,the GIS management system has been used successfully for the management of seabed pipeline in a water area of China,which provides an ideal platform for high-efficient management and 3-dimension presentation of seabed pipeline investigation data,as well as valuable assistant decision information for monitoring of the seabed pipeline.
