A method of extracting elevation without GCPs based on UAV images

This paper put forward a method to extract elevation information from UAV images only using GPS/POS data and several parameters of the camera,without involving any Ground Control Points(GCPs).Geometric models under different flight attitudes were derived,and a real-data experiment was designed to verify the feasibility and precision of this method.In addition,image segmentation was used to expand the elevations of points into corresponding planes.The experiment proved the proposed method to be effective to get elevation information of ground objects.
