GIS Spatial structure analysis of urban systen in Qingjiang River valley

Qingjiang River valley located in Hubei province belongs to economic developing area,the level of urbanization is relatively lagged.The spatial structure of urbanization in vertical and horizontal level were quantitatively analyzed by GIS technological method in the paper.It was classified into main city,second main city,satellite city,key township and general market town according to their spatial structure in vertical level as 1∶1∶1∶3∶98;they were concentric circles of main city and second city in horizontal level.Buffer analysis was conducted to be 5km away from G209,G318,Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway,Wanzhou Railway and Qingjiang River in traffic,although there were 49 percent of town in the buffer,the urbanization rate of towns along Qingjiang River was up to the highest of the urbanization rate by 39.1 percent.The superposition of urbanization integrated considering all transportation elements was low to 20.7 percent.Most of satellite towns were sites of County,and there were 3 key townships in satellite towns.For the reason of evident unreasonable structure of urbanization,the construction speed of main city,second city and key townships should be accelerated.
