Spatial fractal characteristics of remote sensing lineament analysis in Gaogaishan tunnel area

The fractal characteristic of the lineament Gaogaishan tunnel area in Fujian Province was selected for the study.Using GIS and RS technologies to extract the lineament information from the SPOT remote sensing image of this area,the fractal dimension value was calculated by the application of box-dimension method based on the lineament distribution map.Results showed that the lineament in Gaogaishan tunnel area has fractal characteristic,and its fractal dimension value is 1.1929;the rock mass quality of Gaogaishan tunnel area belongs to the class of "good" according to the Engineering grade of rock mass.
