Application of wavelet analysis in marine gravity survey

In order to effectively eliminate the noise of the marine gravimeter measurement signal and improve the measurement accuracy of gravimeter,two de-noising methods were proposed based on Mallat algorithm and wavelet packet decomposition in the paper.Through the simulation,the relationship between decomposition scale and de-noising performance was discussed,and the computing efficiency of two algorithms was compared.Finally,conclusion of the simulation was given with processing the gravimeter measured data.The results showed that this two algorithms could suppress the noise of the marine gravimeter measurement more effectively than the traditional Butterworth filter,and the computing efficiency of Mallat algorithm was superior to that of wavelet packet algorithm.
