Contrast and analysis of different fusion algorithms for ZY-3 satellite images

ZY-3satellite,the first civilian stereo mapping satellite with high precision in China,carries panchromatic camera with a spatial resolution of 2.1 meter and multi-spectral camera with a spatial resolution of 5.8meter.Searching for an effective image fusion algorithm for ZY-3satellite images is significant on the improvement of its image quality and application range.In this paper,five image fusion algorithms(Pansharp,Gram-Schmidt,Modified IHS,modified SFIM,Brovey)and different quality evaluation items were introduced.Finally,image fusion experiments on different areas with farm,city proper,forest land and bare land were implemented,and the result of image fusion was analyzed and discussed.It was showed that the five algorithms were listed in descending order by the fusion effects of ZY-3satellite images:Pansharp,Gram-Schmidt,Modified IHS,Modified SFIM,Brovey.
