Bundle adjustment of Mars express HRSC line sensor imagery based on Quaternion

Aiming at the deficiency of Euler angles in expressing the attitude parameters of exterior orientation due to the lack of control points on Mars surface for image matching,the paper set up the bundle adjustment model based on quaternion through collinearity equation linearization.In order to perform the bundle adjustment of HRSC line sensor imagery of Mars Express,orientation fix model was used.The unknown exterior orientation parameters were firstly solved in orientation fix for interpolating the exterior orientation parameters of every scan line.Then SIFT algorithm combined with image pyramid matching strategy was used to generate tie points automatically.Finally,experiment results showed that the accuracy of bundle adjustment of HRSC line sensor imagery could be improved greatly by the propose method.
