Prediction of ionospheric VTEC using grey time series combination model

In order to improve the prediction accuracy of ionospheric VTEC,GM(2,1)model was used to extract the cyclical trend of ionospheric VTEC series,the time series model of the residual error sequence was established,and the grey time series combination model was formed to forecast the ionospheric VTEC.The example of calculation showed that the prediction of ionospheric VTEC based on the grey time series combination model could have high precision and good stability,meanwhile,with the increasing of forecast days,the forecast accuracy of the model would be reduced;the forecast accuracy and the stability of ionospheric VTEC in the high latitude area would be the highest,the mid-latitude area next,and the low latitude area the worst.
