Inversion of tectonic strain field in China continent using integrated data of GPS velocity field and seismic moment tensor

In order to obtain more accurate crustal stress and strain field of mainland China,based on high precision data processing strategy,the paper derived GPS velocity field and the regional deformation filed within Eurasian plate within ITRF 2005 in mainland China by using the GPS observation data of the10 year time-span 1999-2009 from Crustal Movement Observation Network of China,and the calculated result showed that the deformation is not uniformed distributed in mainland China,with the character of stronger part in the west rather than in the east.Moreover,together with the inferred GPS filed,the seismic moment tensor data in recent 30 years and the Quaternary active fault research results were applied to invert the tectonic strain rate filed in mainland China.Result demonstrated that the most strain is accumulated in the western part of the mainland,in general,the areas with the stronger stress are as Himalaya tectonic belt,Qinghai Tibet Plateau,the Pamir Plateau,the Altyn Tagh fault zone,Xinjiang and Tianshan Mountains and Sichuan-Yunnan region;the variation of stain in the past 10 years was dominated by compression and with some tension.
