Effect of density error on the gravity inversion of urban fault parameters

For the problem of uncertainty of density error for inverse results during the gravity inversion of fault parameters,the effect of density error on the inversion of fault parameters has been studied systematically by variable control method based on theoretical model.And the quantified relationship between density error and inverse results has been determined.The results showed that the inverse error increases gradually with the increasing density change and its amplitude was at 10-5 m/s2 level,indicating creditable results in present study.The effect of density change on fault angle is larger than fault depth.When the density change is-2%-2%,the change ranges of upper hanging wall,lower hanging wall,upper footwall,lower footwall and angle for fault are-0.5%-0.3%,0.2%-0.4%,-0.38%-0.4%,0.25%-0.3% and 4%-5%,respectively.The relationship between density change and fault parameters change is almost linear,when the density change ranges from-2%to 2%.
