Study on the Spatial Accessibility of Endowment Institutions in Wuhan Based on Road Traffic Network

During the Twelfth Five-year Plan, the aging population and "empty nest" families are growing fast and becoming an important issue of China. The social demand of pension, medical and other service facilities are increased dramatically. Current development level of China's pension industry is difficult to adapt to the demand. Endowment institution is one of the important component of the social endowment service, and strengthen the research on reasonable space layout of endowment institutions are the crucial importance for the insurance of the elderly life level and urban development. Hence, this paper uses the method of GIS-based network analysis and minimum distance metric model to evaluate the spatial accessibility of endowment institutions in Wuhan comprehensively. The results are based on the real road traffic network in Wuhan and provided a scientific reference to optimize the spatial distribution of endowment institutions.
