Study on the Spatial Distribution of Beijing's Population Density and its Scale Characteristics

Upon the data from the sixth national census, firstly this paper analyzes the spatial distribution in population statistics and the pattern of population distribution. The result shows that the population density in Beijing has a strong spatial autocorrelation, and accords with the feature of population density multiple nuclei model. Then we analyzes the statistical characteristics and spatial autocorrelation characteristics of Beijing's population density spatial distribution in six different scale. The result shows that the spatial distribution of Beijing's population density has scale characteristic; to move forward a single step, we conduct a comparative study on the statistical characteristics and spatial autocorrelation characteristics in six different scale, in order to discover the pattern between the Spatial auto-correlation and the study scale.
