Design and Application of Joint 3D Modeling Method Based on 3Ds Max and Sketch Up

A new method of joint modeling of campus objects using 3 Ds Max and Google Sketch Up is proposed. This method is applied to 3 D virtual campus construction and planning. Through the introduction and planning of 3 D scene model, a complete 3 D scenes is created. Using C# language and ArcG IS Engine components for secondary development, the a system achieves the basic functions of 3 D browsing, attribute query and animation. Experimental results show that the joint modeling method proposed in this paper integrates the advantages of 3 Ds Max software and Sketch Up software, avoids the problem of format mismatch caused by multiple software modeling, shortens the modeling cycle, reduces the difficulty of scene modeling. It provides a convenient solution for the rapid construction of large scale 3 D scenes.
