An Algorithm Study of Surface Features Thermal Infrared Emissivity Extraction in Field Measurement

Thermal infrared remote sensing uses sensors to detect the targets' thermal infrared radiation,which is used to retrieve important surface environmental parameters such as surface temperature. And the target's emissivity is a key parameter of the surface temperature retrieval. But target's surface structure,temperature and radiation angle will make it difficult to collect target's emissivity in field. In this paper,large amounts of radiance data derived from field measurement is used to make comparative analysis of several emissivity extraction algorithms. And it is found that iterative spectrally smooth temperature/emissivity separation(ISSTES)is very suitable for field measurement of targets' spectral emissivity. Its calculated temperature is very close to the actual measured temperature.
