A Comparative Study on the Content of Anthocyanidin in Leaf and Branches of Redleaf Cherry Plum

ZHAO Yu-ying, WU Guang-yu LI Ting-ting College of Horticulture and Gardening, Yangtze University, Jingzhou, Hubei 434025, China  
4-years-old redleaf cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera var. atropurpurea Jacg.) trees were used as material in experiment. A comparative study on the anthocyanidin content in leaf and branch was conducted from March ro May, 2008. The results showed that the anthocyanidin content in leaves and branches of red leaf cherry plum in Southern regions was the highest than in Northern regions.Anthocyanidin of leaves in redleaf cherry plum had significant difference compared with branches and anthocyanidin in one-year-old branches and had higher anthocyanidin content than two-year-old branches.
