Leading a Reform on Medical Care System by Encouraging Innovation on Medical Service Patterns
Zhu Hengpeng;Institute of Economics, CASS;
Demands for medical care by rural and urban residents are becoming increasingly various and customized.The conservative public institutions of medical care and their personnel system have limited the improvement of medical services to meet the changing requirements of the people. The key to reforming the medical care system is to establish an appropriate personnel and salary and reward system, eliminating systematic barriers that obstruct the flow of talent in the industry. Medical professionals do not belong to public institutions, and they should be given authority to open up private medical institutions. Innovation should be encouraged. We should develop new types of medical services such as internet-based medical care, forcing traditional institutions of medical care to reform. We should categorize the medical care system in details. China's medical care system should catch up with their international counterpart in the period of transformation, and China's health industry will be bolstered to make major progress.
