Wetting Characteristics of Glass Ceramic Coating for Titanium Alloy

In order to reduce the loss of titanium alloy for high temperature oxidation during heat treatment process, a kind of glass ceramic coating was prepared as oxidation resistance. The coating protection was closely related to its surface wetting characteristics for titanium alloy at high temperature. Titanium alloy could be wetted well by coating containing some oxide (B 2O 3, TiO 2) and prevented from oxidizing during heat treatment process.
