Progress on Semiconductor Photocatalysts for Water Decomposition

This paper briefly introduces the mechanism of water decomposition with solar energy for semi- conductors and several novel photocatalysts as well as systems of photocatalysis,mainly including TiO_2,K_4Nb_6O_7 with layered structure,InTaO_4,alkali tantalates ATaO_3(A=Li,Na,K)photocatalysts.Further st udies for water de- composition were also presented.
