Study on Aluminum Pigment Encapsulated by SiO_2

Based on the raw material of Na_2SiO_3, aluminum pigment is encapsulated by SiO_2. The influences of m(SiO_2)/m(Al), temperature and pH on hydrogen evolution of aluminum pigment are studied. It is found that the best encapsulating condition is as follows: m(SiO_2)/m(Al)=7.5%, T=75℃, pH=9.5. Moreover, the encapsulated samples are analyzed and characterized by optical microscopy, SEM, IR and XRD.
