The Study on Preparation of Metal Encapsulating Onion-like Fullerenes from Cyclohexane

Metal encapsulating onion-like fullerenes are prepared by CVD method and characterized by means of XRD, SEM, EDS and TEM. The results show that using the mixture of cyclohexane and ferrocene as carbon source, the metal encapsulating onion-like fullerenes with spheric or quasispheric shape and the diameter in the range of 10~60nm can be prepared by CVD at 900℃. The fullerenes with high graphitization degree contain 11.6wt%Fe.
