Study of the Property of Microwave Plasma Grating

The investigation of the effects of the ponderomotive potential of high-frequency electromagnetic waves on the motion of plasma electrons is presented. As electrons move within the applied field, the plasma density is modified to a periodical and stable state, which formed grated plasma. Based on an equivalent model of plasma density grating, a theory on electromagnetic wave propagation in plasma grating has been proposed. The grated plasma is similar to plasma photonics crystal.
