Analysis and Design of an S-band High Power Solid State Power Amplifler

Considering LDMOS FET' s high gain, high output power, low power loss and efficient heat dissipation, a S-band, 45W and 180W solid state power amplifier is designed. The 45W power amplifier is used as a driving amplifier, and is controlled by the 2W head amplifier. The power is divided into four outputs of the same magnitude and phase, through three 3dB bridges, and each output drove one 180W power amplifier. The output power,500W,is combined through a 4 stages parallel-plate radial-waveguide combiner.
