Nonlinear Simulation of a Gyrotron in High Mode

The interaction between an electron beam and electromagnetic waves in the RF field inside a weakly irregular waveguide is analyzed to derive electron motion equations. Independently developed, numerical simulation software of on beam-wave interaction for a gyrotron in high mode is adopted to make self-consistent nonlinear simulations for a 220GHz gyrotron. The influences of velocity ratio, E-beam eccentricity and velocity spread on the beam-wave interaction efficiency in TE10、4 mode are analyzed.
