Numerical Simulation and Experimental Study of Incoherent Combination of Microwave Power

A microwave chemical reactor, with four independent magnetrons to achieve incoherent combination of microwave power, is modeled to simulate the heating process of water, by infinite element method, to study the difference in heating water by fixed phase or random phase microwave power generators. Included is also a comparison of the temperature change and distribution of the water for the two different heating methods. The energy-transfer efficiency of incoherent combinations of microwave power is confirmed, and the temperature distribution is relatively uniform, which corresponds well to the simulation results.
