Microwave-hot Airflow Ignition Sintering of Iron Ore

This novel ignition sintering technology is a process in which a porous ceramics is heated by microwave irradiation and exchanges energy with flowing gas that is later used as an energy source for ignition iron ore. The sintering index is examined under various processing conditions, namely microwave powers ranging from 6~9kW, ignition times of 0.5~2min and O2 content in hot airflow of 8.40%~47.33%. The results show that microwave-hot air ignition technology is superior to traditional gas ignition processes in sintering index, energy consumption and environmental conservation.
