Research Progress in Soft-chemical Synthesis of Li_4Ti_5O_(12) as Anode Material for Lithium Ion Batteries

As anode material for lithium ion battery,Li_4Ti_5O_(12) doesn't change its crystal structure during lithia-tion and de-lithiation,and therefore,it is regarded as a "zero strain" material.The lithium ion battery using Li_4Ti_5O_(12) as an anode material exhibits excellent cycle performance and service life.A review on the research progress in synthesis of Li_4Ti_5O_(12) using soft chemical methods,such as solvent evaporation,sol-gel process and hydrothermal method,is reported in this paper.The advantages and disadvantages of different synthesis methods are compared and reviewed.At last,the development trend of Li_4Ti_5O_(12) are discussed.
